Solar Energy for Homeowners 101

What we’re going to try and do here is answer some of the more common questions and doubts that people may have about solar energy. Through our years in this business we’ve heard some of these questions asked hundreds if not thousands of times. So you can bet that we have a pretty good idea of what it is that many times keeps people from going solar. We don’t just want to talk about the benefits that solar energy has. At the same time there are things about solar power that people may not be 100% aware of.

Do I Have Enough Room For Solar Panels?

The first question that we usually get when it comes to solar panels. Particularly from people who are very worried about how the solar panels are going to look within the home. It’s a very valid concern that you have to make sure that the look and feel of the property is not affected by the presence of the solar panels. We can work out where the solar panels can go and be effective without affecting the look and feel of your home.

Will I Ever Run Out Of Power Due To Lack Of Sunlight?

If your solar power system is connected to the local grid that’s going to be a problem. Since, if you were to have a day when not enough solar power is produced then you would be getting power from the grid. It works both ways because when you generate more power than you need then that power goes back to the grid. That’s why you’re likely to see deductions from your electric bill. You’re essentially paying your bill with the energy that’s generated by your solar power system.

Could I Still See My Bill Skyrocket In The Winter?

There still may be a bit of an uptick in the winter. Just because you’re typically going to be using a lot more energy on days when you may not be harvesting enough sunlight to be able to cover your particular needs for the day. We’d have to say that skyrocket though is not something that your bill is going to typically do if you go solar. At the end of day you’re still going to be producing at least some power that you’re going to be able to use to limit what you’ll be using from the grid.

Solar Energy For Specific Appliances May Work Differently Than Powering An Entire Home

Getting a solar water heater or even things like an EV charging station are also solutions that we’re going to be able to offer. These work under the same simple concept that a full solar powered system does. Installing a water heater though won’t be a complex operation at all. If you’re looking for solar powered solutions that don’t necessarily involve setting up solar panels and powering your entire home be sure to call or contact us. Those “simpler” solar powered solutions are also part of the list of services that we’re able to offer.
